Hewlett-Packard Company(NYSE:HPQ) shares gained 2.94% to $27. Acacia Research Corporation ACTG on July 31 announced that its Express Card Systems LLC subsidiary has entered into a settlement agreement with Hewlett-Packard Company. The settlement agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Acacia Research Corporation’s subsidiaries partner with inventors and patent owners, license the patents to corporate users, and share the revenue.

Web.com Group Inc (NASDAQ:WWWW) shares climbed 2.85% and closed at $28.19 in the last trading session. The company on August 2 reported a loss for the second quarter that narrowed from last year on strong revenue growth and subscriber additions. Excluding items, adjusted earnings per share beat analysts’ estimates.

The company said its company’s second-quarter net loss narrowed to $9.74 million or $0.20 per share from $19.06 million or $0.41 per share in the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $26.43 million or $0.51 per share, compared to adjusted earnings of $19.06 million or $0.38 per share in the previous-year quarter. Analysts expected the company to earn $0.49 per share for the quarter. Revenues for the quarter increased 22 percent to $120.45 million from $98.95 million in the same period last year. Adjusted revenues for the quarter were $131.4 million. Analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $130.64 million.

FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:FLIR) shares gained 2.83% to $33.75. The company on July 25 announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013. Revenue was $389.3 million, up 15% compared to second quarter 2012 revenue of $338.3 million. Operating income in the second quarter increased by 16% to $70.3 million and net income increased 22% to $50.2 million. Second quarter earnings per diluted share were $0.35, an increase of 30% compared to the second quarter a year ago. Cash provided by operations in the second quarter was $134.3 million and represented a quarterly record.

Toll Brothers Inc (NYSE:TOL) shares gained 2.82% to $33.52. The company on August 1 announced that it had finalized a new five-year $1.035 billion bank credit facility. The unsecured facility, which closed on August 1, 2013 and matures in August 2018, replaces the Company’s existing $885 million revolving credit facility, which was scheduled to mature in October 2014. The new credit facility has an accordion feature under which it can increase to a maximum of $2.0 billion, subject to certain conditions.
